I think the biggest let down is expecting circumstances to be one way and then to see the reality of the situation.
At Christmas you search and think of what you want for each person on your list. You look and find that perfect gift. You wrap it up and make it beautiful. The day comes to give it to that special person. There is excitement in the air.
They reach for your gift. They pull the tissue out. They reach into the bag. They pull the gift out and then they lay it to the side. And nothing. No thank you, no acknowledgement.
You are left to feel empty, rejected and hurt.
That is not the way you expected it to go. You just knew they would be just as excited to receive the gift as you were about giving the gift.
Life lessons there.
How many times do we have expectations in others and are let down?
We are responsible for our expectations. It is not a reflection on them. They responded on the way they felt..
So many times we are let down or disappointed by others.
When we don't express our feelings and understand what others feel, the results will leave you empty.
If your intentions are not made clear more likely are you to have them unmet.
If we never show up expecting greatness we will be let down every time. Come expecting something exciting to happen in your life. Not because someone will make it happen but because God is waiting on the other side of that expectation.
If there is confusion and chaos it isn't from God. If it isn't from God it is from Satan. God the other direction.
