Be Strong in the Lord By Charlene Marshall

Finally, be strong in the LORD and in HIS mighty power Ephesians 6:10 (NIV)

My problem is I usually want the LORD to be strong in me, rather than me being strong in HIM. I want HIM to make me strong, to make me fearless, to make me a conqueror like HE is my genie. When HE wants me to be strong in HIM regardless of how I feel, the situation, or what I want.

I also can’t try to do and be everything all on my own hoping HE will pick up whatever I wasn’t able to. Instead, I need to collaborate with GOD and do my part and trust HE will always do HIS.

Finally, I need to remember all GOD has done for me, all HE has given me, all HE has rescued and redeemed me from. I am HIS child. HIS mighty and powerful SPIRIT is always within me guiding me to work with

HIM through all things. When I surrender to HIS will, His way, His power.

Heavenly Father thank You for Your mighty power within me guiding me, healing me being the strength and courage within me to continue forward regardless of what I face. Help me to understand that when I work with YOU I can overcome any and all obstacles that come my way. Teach me how to do

my part so that YOUR will be done here on earth as it is in heaven. In JESUS name amen.

Have you ever heard the story of the drowning man that is stuck on a rooftop during a flood and prays to God to save him. A man in a canoe one in a boat and even a helicopter comes by and offers to save him. The man refuses to move telling them God is going to save him.

When the man dies and gets to heaven, he asks God why didn’t you save me? God replies, “I sent you a canoe, a boat and a helicopter and you refused to move and get on any of them.

I don’t know how many times I prayed God make me a better person, help me to grow, heal and change and then just waited on God to do it, while I remained in my comfort zone.

Well, nothing changes if nothing changes. God always does His part but to put it in motion I need to do mine! I need to be willing to surrender my will, get out of my comfort zone and act.

Ask yourself, 'What can I do TODAY to work on my recovery, help me to heal, get me closer to my goals, change my destructive behaviors, regardless of how I feel i.e., work on my steps, call my sponsor, journal, go to a meeting, serve, put my goals on paper, exercise, eat healthy, pray, etc.'

Today get out of your comfort zone and do what needs to be done even if you don’t want to do it.
